Trad Folkin' Rocks presents The Trad Stage

With open arms The Sugar Club welcomes back our good friends Trad Folkin’ Rocks and together we present The Trad Stage, four incredible acts in their own right teaming up to give you a delicious Trad Folk n Rock Feast.

For starters we are delighted to present, A Clatter and Drone who have just finished recording their debut album with the supreme Chris Barry. Taking inspiration for their contemporaries in the Irish folk and trad revival we are so lucky to be experiencing, expect some electronica psychedelic rock exploring themes of the human condition.

Following that we have the formidable Saltaire, who have just released a new single fresh out of the oven “Slip jigs and Jennys”, get it while its hot. Expect some haunting and ethereal folk music, rich in storytelling with their original songs and reimagined folk ballads and traditional tunes.

The Labourers will then take the stage, hailing all the way from lovely Limerick. Their music blends raw, high-energy folk that captures the grit, humour and resilience of everyday Ireland.

Our dessert takes the form of the fantastic, formidable, Fada, who thrive on playing high energy trad to get us moving and singing. If you were lucky enough to catch any of their festival offerings last year, you will know exactly what we mean. Hopefully the dancefloor can take the heat!

As if that wasn’t enough, any ticket holders from our besties event in the Button Factory that night- the after party is with us. 

Just show your ticket at the door (for any Trad related event that evening that may have finished a bit too early for you) and our beautiful box office will give you the discounted entry of only €5! We will be hard at it with live late night music so its never too late to join us (instruments welcome, sure we might have an oul session in our heated smoking area).
