Much loved Irish RnB/Soul star Toshín is proud to present a very special one off tribute to one of her musical heroes; Nina Simone. 

“Nina Simone’s powerful voice and unapologetic approach to addressing issues of race and culture have been a constant source of inspiration for me as Toshín. Her fearless commitment to using her music as a platform for social change has shaped my own career as a soul singer. I’ve learned from her that music can be a profound tool for shedding light on important societal issues and celebrating one’s culture. Nina’s resilience and authenticity have pushed me to stay true to my own roots and craft my own unique sound, rooted in my identity as a Black artist. Her legacy continues to guide and motivate me in my journey as Toshín”

Toshín, lead by the powerful voice of Tosin Bankole, is vibrant 6-piece band who take their inspiration from a variety of music spanning from early Motown to modern soul/RnB artists such as Tank and the Bangas and Anderson .Paak.

Their exhilarating live shows go from chilled out, from the heartfelt soul of Aretha Franklin to all-out James Brown-esque funky goodness, and has seen them play all of Ireland’s top music festivals including Electric Picnic, Beyond the Pale, All Together Now. Toshín have also supported Macy Gray on her Irish Tour, the incredible true soul outfit Staple Jr Singers, Corrine Bailey Rae & Kurt Elling, as well as performing sold out headline shows in both Dublin’s Whelans and The Grand Social.

With a number of new releases and an album in the pipeline, Toshín are set for a big 2024 ahead.
