About Stewart Agnew & Band
One of Ireland’s most refined singer songwriters, Stewart Agnew, emerged from his self-imposed musical exile, earlier this summer clasping a clutch of glorious ear-worms to his chest in the shape of his fourth album, Into the Black Hills. The album’s official launch show took place at Dublin’s National Concert Hall and featured guest appearances by some very special guests including Zoe Conway and Duke Special. Indeed, look out for Stewart’s new single in the coming weeks; the delectable Rain Down Diamonds, which he co-wrote and shares vocals with his good friend Duke Special.
While an accomplished writer and musician himself, for his live shows Stewart is in the idyllic position of surrounding himself with friends who also happen to be some of the finest Irish musicians around, who include; Cormac Curran, keys and arranger (John Grant, Villagers, Lisa Hannigan, Cathy Davey and SOAK just some samples), Graham Heaney, double and upright bass (Ham Sandwich, The Lost Brothers) and Tadhg Leahy, guitars and piano (RIAM).
- Stewart is thrilled to now have some further shows to look forward to; including this Dublin biggy at The Sugar Club on Sunday December 1st.
Stewart has played live with everyone from Ron Sexsmith (who guested on Songs from the Gasstation album) and Duke Special to Mick Flannery, Beth Orton, Josh Ritter, Justin Townes Earle & Gemma Hayes.
Stewart has expanded on the palate suggested by his previous albums (Tailor Made, Songs from The Gasstation & Hello Bright Spark) displaying a pop-nous and some say a song writing maturity previously only glimpsed at.
Come join us at The Sugar Club on December 1st and get your music Christmas well and truly underway!
