Bricknasty Sessions #3

About Bricknasty Sessions #3

Dublin neo-soulsters Bricknasty return in July for the third show of their own venue residency.

Based in the Dublin district of Ballymun, Bricknasty only started creating music in January 2020 but have already made a significant dent in the Irish music scene.

Described by BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders as his favourite type of jazz mixed with every other genre under the sun, they draw influence from Neo-Soul while putting their boisterous and eclectic nature on full display.

From infectious energy and soulful chords to its soft, woozy vocals, the band combine R&B, hip-hop and an anarchic musical approach that stems from growing up in the Balbutcher Lane flats (where music from every culture could be heard, from traditional Irish ballads to 90s rave and garage music).

For this third session, they will be joined by 1000 Beasts, Kayleigh Noble and MOiO.

The concept behind 1000 Beasts is simple; one artist takes the incredible talent that surrounds him and nurtures collaborations to produce fresh music greater than the sum of its parts. Founded by “Cian”, a well-established freelance musician, pianist and producer in his own right who has toured internationally and worked at the highest level in his native Irish music industry and abroad, 1000 Beasts is an alt-electro/alt-pop project collaborating with different acts and artists (“The Beasts”) on every release.

Kayleigh Noble is an artist on the rise. After a series of collaborations with Irish producer 1000 Beats, the Dublin born, London based singer is finding strength and empowerment in her own individuality and solo work. Heavily influenced by the wavy flavour of R&B and the allure of contemporary pop culture. she released her latest EP Hot Mess in May.

MOiO is producer for Monjola / Aby Coulibaly, debut live show.
